Wonderous Water at Sci-Bono Discovery Centre

PRESS RELEASE

An awesome event for curious kids!

Sci-Bono Discovery Centre is celebrating summer this school holiday as we present another exciting Holiday Programme between 21 and 29 September 2013.

The theme for the coming holiday programme is Wonderous Water and we celebrate the blue gold that is one of the most precious and scarce resources on the planet. Although less than 1% of all water on the planet is fresh, it is an absolute necessity to sustain all life. Join us as we take you on a journey to discover more about our liquid planet.

The exciting programme is packed with interactive science experiments that will leave your child in awe! Starting every day at 10:00, kids can get their hands wet as they build their own steam boat and learn how steam can be used as a source of energy. The power of water is not only limited to steam boats. Kids can also build water rockets and see who shoots their rocket the highest. Hydrogen used in fuel cells can be used as a major source of clean energy in future. You will learn what fuel cell technology is, how it works, and how it may develop in the future and then produce hydrogen from water to run a small hydrogen fuel cell car. This experiment can get noisy!

Discover why some objects sink while others float, during the amazing Aqua Spectacle Science Show that takes place every day at 13:00. The science of water will be explored further while we also learn more about bubbles, what holds them together and why insects can walk on water. If you get bored of water, there are over 350 interactive science exhibits in the centre that will keep young and old entertained for hours.

Sci-Bono Discovery Centre is open Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00, and Saturday and Sunday between 09:30 to 16:30. Entry fees are R10 a child and R20 an adult. Pensioners and children under 6 are free. Some of the workshops have a minimal entrance fee, while others are free and are offered on a first come first serve basis. Hurry up to secure your spot as these shows are very popular!

Ready. Set. Breakfast!

PRESS RELEASE

You’ve probably heard it from your own parents: breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But now you're the one saying it — to your sleepy, frazzled, grumpy children, who insist on saying "I'm not hungry" as you try to get everyone fed and moving in the morning.

Breakfast has long been known as the most important meal of the day, and for good reason. It's what fuels the body to make it through a long day at school. For that reason, consuming a healthy, nutritious meal in the morning is one of the most important things a child needs to get through each day. Research has repeatedly proven that a healthy breakfast positively impacts brain function and energy levels, which is extremely important for growing minds and bodies. With all the demands that kids have at school now days; tests, exams, extra mural activities, home work and assignments, they need fuel to help them remain alert and make it through the long school day.

There are many benefits to starting the day off with a healthy breakfast, and even more so for children. Children who skip breakfast are more tired, irritable or restless by late morning. At school, a hungry child can lose concentration in class, have no energy for playtime and snack on unhealthy foods, such as chips or biscuits. This is why it is so important for parents to provide their children with a substantial breakfast, allowing them the best start to their day. A healthy body fuels a growing mind.

Morvite offers parents the perfect breakfast solution. Morvite is not only filling, it is an affordable and convenient ready to eat cereal that requires no cooking.  It is made from pure sorghum and is fortified with 11 vitamins and 5 minerals that growing bodies and minds require. It is formulated to meet the dietary requirements of school children and it can be prepared as a breakfast cereal or an energy drink with milk or water.

Morvite is available in two ranges – Morvite Original and Morvite Choice.  The Morvite Original range contains the sour taste that the brand is known and loved for by millions of South Africans. The Morvite Original range is available in the following flavours, Original, Strawberry, Vanilla, Banana, Honey and Pineapple.  Morvite Choice adds a bit of twist to the existing range. It is formulated without that Morvite unique “sour” taste to cater for those members of your family that prefer a different taste, but still want the goodness of the original Morvite Range.  Morvite Choice is available in three tasty flavours – Original, Strawberry and Banana.  In addition, Morvite has also launched Morvite Orange and Morvite Instant Mabele. High in vitamin C, Morvite Orange will help keep the family healthy, and Morvite Instant Mabele is simple, non-flavoured and delivers the authentic taste of mabele that is loved by many who grew up on the traditional porridge.

Moms can rest assured that their family is being looked after when serving Morvite for breakfast because it has important vitamins and minerals that growing minds and bodies require.

11 Vitamins + 5 Minerals = Morvite Gives You More.
